I am a woman veteran with 31 years of Army service; I support the proclamation, in concept only. Proclamations are merely words, if, e.g., veterans remain homeless and no one questions why women veterans are the largest subgroup of homeless veterans. We integrated into the Army in 1974; from Viet Nam to Panama, to Desert Storm, which saw the largest deployment of women to a combat zone, women have served and continue to serve - in Iraq, in Afghanistan, returning with different battle scars.
