I am opposed to the increase in the vehicle license tax from $24 to $33 per year especially while we are going through a COVID-19 pandemic. Many of our residents are losing their jobs and this Board wants to tax them more. The Board needs to hold all tax increases in abeyance, especially for individuals and small businesses until well after the pandemic resolves. There is still an overage in the budget to allow for all tax rates to remain stagnant this year.
Is this new BOCS a "tax and spend" board? How can the PWC BOCS even consider raising new taxes in the current economic environment created by the COVID-19 crisis? Many county residents are having trouble paying their rent after being instructed by the State government to stay-at-home as much as possible. Not everyone in PWC works at what the State considers an essential position and most jobs cannot work from home. Please do not consider adding to the burden of our PWC citizens at this time.

You need to cut the budget.
