I strongly urge the BOCS to appoint those nominated to the jail board who will vote to end the current 287(g) program. The program provides no benefits to PWC; it does not reduce crime; its application is inherently racist; and it was instituted by the former board chair only to further his political ambition. It has divided the county when we should work towards the welfare of all county residents. It promotes negative stereotypes of the minority members of our community. Steve Dixon
