I oppose Richard Mattox's appointment to the Prince William - Manassas Regional Jail Board. He brings nothing to this board and has no law enforcement experience.
Mr. Mattox could be an excellent candidate for the Citizen-at-Large position on the Board. His education and career are not directed at the incarceration and recidivism area, but he clearly has demonstrated the ability to work at high levels within and outside the federal government.
It is not clear what Mr. Mattox brings to the Jail Board. His background seems political and communications oriented, perhaps a different board would be a better fit?
