I strongly support Tim Parrish. He is the only nominee for the Jail board that has actual law enforcement experience as a Washington DC police officer.
Mr Parrish has an impressive list of experiences that I believe will help him support Sheriff Hill and keep our county safe as well as run the regional jail with compassion.
Mr. Parrish has clearly staked his position on 287 and with Sheriff Hill in his media documents announcing his intentions to be the Republican candidate for PWC BOS. He is either a bit late or quite early and I don't think his high level of political focus will be constructive on the Jail Board. It would seem he is looking for one more bully pulpit. As an enlisted man in the Navy I know there are many who are very competent and officer capable. I strongly oppose this nomination.
I support Mr. Parrish’s candidacy, and all others (regardless of party) seeking to work with Sheriff Hill to run a safe, fair, law-abiding jail with opportunities for inmates to better themselves.
Mr. Parrish's areas of expertise are limited to the successful completion of security operations. The Jail Board is tasked with governing the ADC, who's primary mission is to (1) provide for the welfare of prisoners;(2) safety of the ADC staff; (3) reducing recidivism (4) in a cost-effective manner. It is unclear how Mr. Parrish's background has prepared him to serve on this board, with no policy, legal or economic background.
