This county doesn’t need TWO major asphalt plants side by side on the very edge of an industrial zone with zero buffer within a stones throw of over 1000 homes and an elementary school. I understand that business is business and business must grow. However, as we learned in Dr. Seuss’s book the Lorax - this business growth should not come as an expense to the lives of both humans and nature. This toxic plant is simply too big, too intense and not right for this location. Please deny this SUP.
Due to 1. Site proximity to neighborhood school and residential housing 2. environmental impact on soil, air and water 3. safety hazards of asphalt manufacturing plants 4. increased heavy equipment traffic on roads connecting to a PWC major transportation artery(Dumfries Road/PW Parkway) from I95 to I66 throughout a given day.
I am in opposition to Allan Myers opening a second Asphalt plant on Bethlehem Road. The daily blasting that effects my home structure, moves paintings and pictures is annoying enough to not allow a second plant.
