I *oppose* the rezoning for Devlin Technology "Park" (which is not a park at all). Our neighborhoods and schoolchildren deserve better than huge potentially noisy fenced off concrete eyesores next door. Datacenter sprawl may not even help county finances considering their tax-rate race to the bottom, extra time traveling around them to work (they employ few long-term) and the prospect of this blight depressing home values, deterring improvements, and putting off newcomers who have options.

I ask that you DENY the rezoning application for Devlin Technology Park (DTP).   Development of this kind has no business ENGULFING our neighborhoods and schools.  We deserve better!  To be clear, I am NOT against development and I'm NOT against data centers. I AM, however, 100% AGAINST building data centers within hundreds of feet of neighborhoods and schools.  Deny the rezoning application and protect the health and wellbeing of PWCo citizens.

Devlin Tech Park is the quintessential dangerous precedent that Loudoun’s Economic Development Chief Buddy Rizer warned about in a January 29 PWT article.

The disregard for the home values and quality of life in these neighborhoods brings a malaise of fear and loathing to the data center industry as citizens wonder which neighborhood will be hit next. It’s not just poor governance, it’s also bad business. Data centers do not belong this close to homes and schools. Anywhere. Ever. Period.

The rezoning from Residential to Industrial should not be approved.

The board must DENY this rezoning action.

Chair Wheeler and other board members have made regarding the data centers in that area, these homes will be in excess of 600 feet from any resultant (bad board decisions previously made). This residential area will be located next to existing residential neighborhood (homes) and schools and are compatible with the surrounding properties.
