13.B) Rezoning - #REZ2023-00031, Thomas Farm at Bristow Station - Brentsville Magisterial District - Alex Vanegas, Planning - Mobility, Economic Growth, and Resiliency
I oppose the Thomas Farm rezoning as a resident of New Bristow Village. This increase traffic will overwhelm our current infrastructure. The proposed cut through poses a danger to our community. With our roads already narrow between houses, cars parked along the roads and our young children playing in the neighborhood we already need to be mindful of the already saturated car traffic. Please take the safety of our neighborhood into consideration and reject this proposal.
I strongly oppose this rezoning as a resident of NBV with 3 small children (4 as of next week). First, packing in 350 residential units in the proposed location violates the Comprehensive Plan. Second, an inter-parcel connection with NBV endangers my family and all NBV residents, as our neighborhood roads would become unsafe cut-throughs for an added 700 car trips per day where our children walk and play. NBV roads serve approx. 500 residences. Overburdening them with 350 more is dangerous.
I too oppose the Thomas Farms rezoning. My family and many others' small children walk and play in New Bristow Village. The inter-parcel connection that its number of houses *far in excess of the Comprehensive Plan's recent increase* and nearby suburban developments would prompt Transportation and VDOT to require, would bring aggressive cut-through commuting traffic from already congested Rt. 28, reduce walkablity, community, and long-term confidence in PWC and endanger dozens of little lives.
I vehemently oppose the Thomas Farms rezoning. Approving this expansion will increase housing density far beyond surrounding communities, overwhelming our infrastructure. The traffic study fails to consider cumulative impacts, and the added vehicles will turn New Bristow Village into a dangerous cut-through, putting residents and children at risk. I urge you to prioritize safety and sustainability by rejecting this proposal.
