I strongly oppose! The proximity of this substation to Braemar will be detrimental to our community and families. Please do not allow this to move forward. I respectfully request you vote NO!
As a nearby resident and parent, I am deeply concerned about the proposed substation’s proximity to our neighborhood and my children’s school. I respectfully ask the Board to carefully consider the long-term impacts on our community, including construction, noise, traffic, and quality of life, before moving forward. For these reasons, I respectfully ask that you vote no on this proposal.
As a homeowner and resident in Braemar, I urge the BOCS to vote no on this measure. We will be negatively impacted in our quality of life, property value and health. It will negatively impact schools and homes in Bristow and Nokesville. Industrial substations are not meant for residential neighborhoods.
Please vote NO. As a resident and homeowner in the Braemar community I am opposed to the location of this substation. The close proximity to our homes, schools and outdoor spaces will negatively impact our quality of life.
I am writing to urge the BOCS to vote NO on the Vint Hill Substation project. As a local resident of 21 years, the industrialization that has been allowed in our communities is appalling. This is ruining the environment, affecting our house values, and if allowed to continue will drive us out of this area. I am writing to urge the Board to vote NO on the Vint Hill Substation expansion to protect our rural areas from being overtaken by large-scale industrial utility stations. This massive project is far too close to our local schools, neighborhoods, and community spaces, threatening both our rural character and residential safety. As our elected leaders, you have a direct responsibility to protect your constituents over industrial growth, and we ask you vote no
Please vote No to the Vint Hill Substation SUP. The county's own 2040 Comprehensive Plan says utilities must look in commercial or industrial zones first, and can only build in residential areas if absolutely no other land exists (Action Strategy EU-1.3). We understand that an alternative substation is available in an industrial area but Dominion is ignoring shifting the project for corporate convenience- and that’s no ok.
Please vote NO. I am very concerned about undisclosed high voltage power lines that will run through Braemar and neighboring communities. This will have a large impact on our property values, the rural community we have fought so hard to preserve, and above all the increased power cost driven by data centers that homeowners are forced to pay for. This is not the only Dominion project that affects our community either. We must draw the line now - people over power.
The vote on this issue must be a NO. This project if approved will disproportionately harm the Bristow area for decades. It is wildly incongruent with the County's current and future development plans and is in no way congruent with the preservation of rural character or the vast amounts of residential development adjacent that is being approved as we speak. This facility must be stopped or it will damage the health, wellbeing and allure of the greater Bristow area.
Braemar is bearing a disproportionate share of proposed electrical infrastructure projects. This substation is another industrial facility being placed close to homes and green spaces. Please consider the cumulative impact of these projects and ensure no single community is repeatedly asked to sacrifice its quality of life for regional needs.
Residents have invested their futures in Braemar. This substation threatens property values and undermines the qualities that attracted families here.
